Here is what to expect before you turn on automatic fan control.
Which Macs are supported?
ThermoKoru runs on supported Apple silicon and Intel Macs with macOS 14 or later. Available sensors and fans vary by Mac model.
Does ThermoKoru replace Apple’s thermal protection?
No. ThermoKoru works alongside Apple Automatic, and macOS thermal protections remain active.
What triggers Boost or Emergency cooling?
You choose the temperature levels. ThermoKoru waits for several readings above a level before increasing fan speed, which helps prevent rapid switching.
Why does fan control need a helper?
macOS lets apps read temperatures normally, but changing fan speeds requires a small Fan Helper that you approve during setup.
What happens if control cannot be verified?
ThermoKoru stops manual control and attempts to return the fans to Apple Automatic.
What happens without internet?
Monitoring and Fan Helper do not need internet. An already verified license continues working during temporary outages.
Can I move a license to another Mac?
Yes. Deactivate the old Mac in ThermoKoru settings, then activate the same key on the new Mac.
